The Book

Young or old, Darla changes your life…if you can find her. Or, more accurately, if she finds you. Fast-paced with a sprinkle of magic, “Darla, The Roller Derby Queen – a Trilogy” is the tale of the story teller, a former roller derby heroine who skates her way through the lives of people she meets. Her feel-good message sends the reader in search of the twinkle lights that guide us all.

BOOK SUMMARY

Darla, The Roller Derby Queen – Part One: The story teller’s quippy account of an aspiring roller derby competitor whose career and life shatter. True to her vision, though, Darla continues to skate through the park, opening new paths for the people who listen to her story. You will fall under her spell.

Darla, Life After Eight – Part Two – Charlene and Devin meet in Second Grade only to part ways and reconnect every eight years. They are twin souls inspired by encounters with the “lady in the park”, an urban legend described as either a nut case or the next messiah.

Darla, A Spin on the News – Reggie McIntyre, the rude television reporter, wants to find and expose Darla, that elusive and enigmatic woman who supposedly skates in some park, somewhere. His quest takes him to an organic farm in upstate New York, a snake zoo in Texas, a fast food diner in Ohio and finally a bench in the park.

Readers will be challenged to put Darla’s Story into any traditional category. You just need to hear her story.
